Friday 17th July
As another wonderful school year draws to a close, it is hard to believe how quickly the time has flown. The final week has been full of celebration, reflection, laughter and a few tears as we marked the end of another successful year at Llangan.
This week, we said goodbye to our fantastic Year 6 pupils as they prepare to begin the next exciting stage of their educational journey. They have been incredible ambassadors for our school, demonstrating kindness, resilience, determination and friendship throughout their time at Llangan.
One of the highlights of their final week was an unforgettable trip to Infinity, where they enjoyed trampolining and bowling together. It was wonderful to see them making lasting memories, sharing laughter and celebrating the friendships they have built over the years.
Our Leavers' Assembly was, as always, an emotional occasion. It gave us the opportunity to reflect on each child's journey and celebrate everything they have achieved. Watching them leave us fills us with immense pride. We know they are more than ready for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
To every member of Year 6 – thank you for everything you have brought to our school community. We wish you every happiness and success as you move on to high school. Continue to work hard, be kind, be ambitious and believe in yourselves. We will miss you, Year 6!
Our final week has also been a wonderful opportunity for every class to reflect on the progress they have made throughout the year. The children have celebrated their achievements, looked back on the many memorable experiences they have shared and spent time getting excited about the year ahead.
There is a real sense of anticipation across the school as we look forward to an exciting new chapter. We are looking forward to welcoming Mrs Jenkins as our new Headteacher in September. I know she will receive a warm Llangan welcome from our children, families and staff.
We can't end the year without mentioning today's Colour Run! Once again, our amazing PTA organised a truly unforgettable afternoon that brought smiles, laughter and colour to every corner of the school. It is always such a special way to celebrate the end of another fantastic year together, and seeing every child enjoying the event was a joy.
To make the day even sweeter, every child was treated to a well-earned ice cream. What a perfect way to finish the school year!
As I come to the end of my time leading Llangan this term, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to our entire school community. It has been an absolute privilege to lead this wonderful school, and I am incredibly grateful for the kindness, encouragement and support that I have received. I am excited to continue supporting the school as it begins its next exciting chapter.
It is also timely to pay tribute to our remarkable staff team. We are incredibly fortunate to have a team of dedicated professionals who consistently go above and beyond for every single child. Their care, commitment and passion shine through every day, and I am grateful for each and every one of them. Llangan is truly lucky to have such an exceptional team.
To our parents and families, thank you. Your support, encouragement and partnership are second to none. Together, we have created something very special. We are more than a school; we are a community, and that is because of the warmth, generosity and commitment that you bring every day.
To our wonderful PTA, thank you for everything you do. Your incredible hard work, enthusiasm and dedication make such a difference to our children. The opportunities you help provide through your fundraising are invaluable, and we are so grateful for the time and energy you invest in making Llangan an even better place.
Finally, a reminder that Tuesday 1st September and Wednesday 2nd September are INSET days for staff. We look forward to welcoming all of our children back to school on Thursday 3rd September, ready for another exciting year of learning.
Until then, I wish you all a very happy, restful and well-deserved summer holiday with your families and friends!
