Headteacher's Blog
It's been another incredibly busy week in school, with lots to celebrate!
Our Year 6 pupils had a fantastic time on their visit to Storey Arms this week. The children threw themselves into every challenge, showed great teamwork and resilience, and represented the school brilliantly throughout the trip. Judging by the smiles, laughter and stories they brought back with them, it's fair to say that an amazing time was had by all!
We were also delighted to welcome Elin from Velindre Cancer Charity to assembly. It was a real privilege to present our fundraising donation of over £2,300. This is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the generosity of our whole school community. Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising events and helped us raise such a fantastic amount for this important cause.
Our outdoor learning sessions have continued to make the most of the wonderful weather, with pupils harvesting some of the fruit and vegetables grown in our allotment. The children take such pride in caring for the space and it is always lovely to see them enjoying the rewards of all their hard work.
This week was also class photograph week! These annual photos are always a special way of capturing memories of the school year and we look forward to seeing the finished results.
We were pleased to welcome our Governors into school this week as part of their ongoing work to support and challenge us. Their visits provide a valuable opportunity to see the school in action, speak with pupils and staff, and help us evaluate the many strengths of our school as well as identify areas for further development.
A huge thank you goes to our PTA for organising another wonderful Father's Day stall. The children loved choosing gifts and I'm sure there will be some very happy (and perhaps surprised!) dads this weekend. We are incredibly grateful for the time and effort our PTA volunteers give to creating these special opportunities for our children.
With the weather set to be extremely warm next week, please see the sun safety reminders below, to ensure all our children are kept safe in the sun.
Please also see the School News section for an exciting opportunity for a new Parent Governor position.
As you can see, it has been a very full week with lots happening both in and out of the classroom. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
I hope you all have a wonderful, sunny weekend and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
