It's been another fantastic week here at Llangan! The sense of community, teamwork and enthusiasm around the school has been truly wonderful to see.
On Tuesday, our whole school came together for the Llangan Mini-Marathon and what an incredible event it was! Every single pupil took part in our fundraising run and the atmosphere around the school was simply amazing. The children loved running to motivational music played through our brand new PA speaker, very kindly donated by the PTA. Thank you so much for your generosity and support. It really added to the excitement and energy of the day! As if that wasn't enough, we also enjoyed a picnic lunch on the school field to celebrate!
Most importantly, it was inspiring to see our school community come together to support the Velindre charity. We are absolutely delighted to share that we raised an incredible £1765! Thank you to everyone who donated, supported and encouraged our pupils. Your kindness and generosity continue to make us proud of our special community. Llangan really is small but mighty!
Today, classes also enjoyed celebrating Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. Across the school there was lots of wildlife-inspired learning taking place, with pupils engaging in fascinating research activities and creating beautiful artwork linked to the natural world. It was lovely to see the children’s curiosity and creativity shine through as they explored the importance of caring for our planet and the creatures we share it with.
Looking ahead, over the next two weeks we will be completing our Summer Term assessments. Please make every effort to ensure your child attends school regularly during this time so they can complete this important work.
Children from Nursery to Year 6 will take part in a range of assessments in maths, literacy and non-verbal reasoning. Pupils in Year 2 to Year 6 will also complete the Welsh Government Personalised Online Assessments. The results of these assessments will be shared with you in your child’s end-of-year report.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Have a wonderful weekend!
