It has been another wonderfully busy and joyful week here at Llangan, with so many opportunities for our children and the wider community to learn and explore together.

Our younger pupils in Dosbarth Gwenynen and Dosbarth Pili Pala enjoyed a memorable trip to Southerndown beach this week. The children behaved beautifully and made the most of the sunshine as they explored the rock pools with great curiosity and enthusiasm. Despite the very windy conditions and a rather long walk back up the hill to the bus for those little legs, they showed real resilience and positivity throughout. A big thank you to the staff and volunteers who made the trip possible.

We were absolutely delighted to welcome families to the very first session of Little Llangan Learners on Monday. Our new pre-school playgroup got off to a fantastic start, and it was truly heartwarming to see the school hall filled with little ones and their parents and carers enjoying the space together. There was such a lovely atmosphere, and we are so excited to see this new community flourish in the weeks ahead.

We have also been thrilled to launch two new after-school clubs this week. Our multi-sports club, run by Spanish Soccer Schools, has already proven popular, and it has been equally exciting to begin our bee-keeping club. It is wonderful to see such a broad range of extra-curricular opportunities on offer, giving pupils the chance to discover new interests and skills.

Across the school, curriculum inquiries are moving along at pace, with pupils diving deeper into their concepts and showing increasing confidence in their learning. It is always a pleasure to see such engagement and curiosity in the classroom.

As if all of that wasn’t enough, we also held our Great Llangan Bake Off! The school was filled with the delicious smell of homemade bakes, and the standard was incredibly high. Well done to everyone who took part and supported the event. Thanks to your generosity and the fantastic work of the PTA, we are delighted to share that we raised more than £230!

Finally, a reminder that school will be closed on Monday 4th May for the Bank Holiday. We hope you all enjoy a restful long weekend with your families.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Warmest wishes,
Mrs Heavyside
