Blwyddyn Newydd Dda | INSET Day Reminder and Cold Weather Update

Please enter an introduction for your news story here.
Blwyddyn Newydd Dda!
Happy New Year to all our families.
We hope that you have had a magical Christmas and a relaxing, enjoyable break together.
This is a reminder that tomorrow is an INSET Day, and therefore the school will be closed to pupils while staff are in school taking part in professional training. We will reopen to pupils as usual on Tuesday 6 January and look forward to welcoming everyone back.
You will be aware that we are currently experiencing a cold snap, with low temperatures expected to continue throughout the week. Mr Godwin, our school caretaker, has been busy gritting the school site and car park to prepare for our return, despite the icy conditions.
While the school car park itself is clear of ice, the access lane can be notoriously icy, particularly first thing in the morning. Mr Godwin has been gritting the lane, and the Local Authority is due to deliver more salt and grit the road tomorrow morning, so conditions should be improved by Tuesday. However, we kindly ask that you continue to take extra care when arriving at and leaving school.
Now more than ever, please ensure that children use the gravel path in the car park when walking from vehicles to the school gate, just in case there is any black ice present. This is also a helpful reminder of our car park rules, which are in place to keep everyone safe.
Even in cold weather, children will continue to go outside to play when conditions allow. Please ensure your child comes to school with a warm coat and appropriate clothing for the weather.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We very much look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday.
Kind regards,
Mr. James Griffiths
