Llangan Act Of Remembrance

This morning, our Year 6 pupils led the whole school community in an act of remembrance. At 11am, they guided us in a minute’s silence to honour those who have served and sacrificed.

Following this, they delivered a thoughtful and moving assembly, beautifully linked to their current inquiry into World War II. Through their homework projects, the children explored how the war affected families, in their cynefin research they shared stories of life in Llangan and the surrounding villages during the War, uncovering local stories and connections to their own family histories.

They also reflected on the theme of conflict in the world today, leading a moment of silent prayer and reflection.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 pupils — true ethical, informed citizens and wonderful role models for the rest of the school. They even led a Poppy artwork competition for the whole school sharing prizes for the best art work.
