Please be careful when entering the school site and car park today due to icy conditions. Mr Vaughan our caretaker has been gritting the school site and the VOG council has gritted the roads. However,, it's very icy entering the school car park.
We look forward to welcoming our pupils back to school today.
A reminder that our exciting Family Learning Course will be taking place in our school. Starting on Tuesday, 9th January, from 1 to 3:30 pm, the Fizzy Fun Science course will run for 10 weeks. This course, led by a teacher called Emma from Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC), will allow parents and family members to work alongside their child, exploring various STEM experiments. The course is free for all and open to children from years 2 to 6. Children must be accompanied by a family member, such as parents, siblings over the age of 18, or grandparents.
Your child brought home a flyer in December. The deadline to sing up for ht course is Monday 8th January 2024. We've had lots of families sign up but still have 2 places.

On Wednesday, we had the privilege of hosting a representative from the charity Bullies Out. They led workshops for our Year 1 to Year 6 students, teaching them the Hand of Courage initiative, which aims to help tackle bullying within our school. They also led an assembly called "STAND UP, SPEAK OUT, STAY SAFE!" It was a valuable and empowering experience for our students.
Monday 4th of December was also a day filled with musical inspiration as we welcomed the Song Writing Doctor to our school. This music specialist teacher worked with every class, guiding them in writing their pieces of music based on their current enquiries. Using Google Songmaker and Music Lab, the children learnt how to compose their own melodies. For example, our Year 6 students wrote songs about the experiences of evacuees during World War 2. Furthermore, the older children had the opportunity to learn to play the ukulele. We are excited to announce that Larry, the Song Writing Doctor, will be returning to Llangan in the New Year to further develop our pupils' expressive arts skills
