Whittling, Wonder, and Woodland Skills – Dosbarth Mochyn Daear Make Wood Cookies!
This week, Dosbarth Mochyn Daear have been putting their Forest School skills into action as they created their very own wood cookies.
Using tools safely and confidently, the children practised whittling techniques and worked with natural materials to produce a set of unique, hand-crafted wooden discs. These "wood cookies" will now become part of our classroom environment—used in a variety of ways to support learning across the curriculum.
Whether it’s for maths manipulatives, storytelling prompts, or nature-inspired art, these beautiful natural resources bring a bit of the forest indoors and reflect our belief in the power of outdoor learning to spark creativity, resilience, and independence.
Da iawn, Dosbarth Mochyn Daear—a fantastic example of meaningful, hands-on learning rooted in the great outdoors.
