Dear Parents and Guardians,

It has been an eventful week here at Llangan Primary School, filled with excitement and celebration.

Our Halloween festivities kicked off the week with a spooky surprise. The path from the car park to the hall was transformed into a haunted walkway, thanks to the hard work of our dedicated PTA members. The fiendish decorations delighted and entertained our students throughout the week. It was a joy to see their smiling faces as they made their way to and from school.

On Wednesday, we brought our Halloween celebrations to a close with a Disco. This PTA-organised event was a huge success, with pumpkins adorning the school and students arriving in their delightful costumes. The night was filled with dancing, thrilling games, and delicious food. I am proud to announce that the Disco raised an incredible £843.94 for our school. This achievement is truly remarkable, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all involved.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to our amazing PTA members who worked tirelessly to make this week a memorable one. Their dedication and commitment to our school community are truly commendable. They are already planning our next exciting event, the Great British Bake Off, which will take place on Monday, 20th November. I encourage you all to participate and support this wonderful initiative.

This week, we also held our parents' evening, and I want to express my appreciation for the outstanding attendance from parents. Your commitment to your child's education and your support for our teachers is truly commendable. Your involvement plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of our students, and we are grateful for your partnership.

I am delighted to announce that on Thursday, we launched our very own Senedd. At Llangan, we believe in empowering our students to become active citizens who contribute to all aspects of school life, the community, and the wider world. Our Senedd provides them with the opportunity to make a difference and participate in the democratic process. Each student in Years 2 to 6 is a member of one of our five Senedd Committees, including the School Council, Eco Owls, Digital Leaders, Health and Wellbeing Committee, and Criw Cymraeg.

The Senedd meets once a half-term to discuss ways to make a positive impact within our school, community, and beyond. These plans are then put into action, with the children taking the lead in running their respective committees. I am proud to share that this week, each committee's Minister presented their action plans for the year. It was a joy to witness the enthusiasm and creativity of our students, and I am confident that their ideas will bring about positive change.

As we approach the half-term break, I would like to express my gratitude for your continued support throughout this term. It has been a pleasure to see our students thrive and grow in their learning journey. I wish you all a wonderful and restful half-term break. Please note that Monday, 6th November, is an inset day for our staff, and the school will be closed for children. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, 7th November.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support.

Warm regards,

James Griffiths
