Dear Parents and Carers, 

We have reached the end of another fantastic, action-packed week in Year 6! The pupils have worked exceptionally hard and demonstrated wonderful leadership skills across all areas of school life.

We wrapped up our Cynefin inquiry this week by asking a big question: Does history actually play a part in how we choose and connect with our Cynefin?

Our Year 6 pupils critically analysed their local history research to evaluate a core statement before channelling their findings into creative acrostic poems. We are so proud of their thoughtful work and can’t wait to share their final pieces on our school website next week!

Classroom Highlights: Maths & Literacy

• Mathematics: We have been tackling fractions this week, focusing on the steps needed to add and subtract fractions with confidence.

• Literacy: We launched our new writing genre—the Narrative Thriller! The children are using our local Cynefin area as the atmospheric setting for their suspense stories.

Forest School Pupil Leaders A huge milestone for Dosbarth Llwynog this week: our Year 6 pupils stepped up to lead their very first Forest School session for Year 4! They planned engaging outdoor activities, supported the younger children brilliantly, and proved what fantastic role models they are.

Important Reminders for Next Week

• Extra PE Session: We have scheduled an additional PE session on Tuesday. Pupils are welcome to wear their PE kits to school for the whole day on Tuesday (in addition to their usual PE day).
