Dosbarth Llwynog Weekly Update

This week, Dosbarth Llwynog have been getting their teeth into a number of exciting projects that have incorporated research, group work, partner work and independent learning.

In Numeracy, we have continued working on our real-life money projects, Summer Fair Challenge and Plan a Party. Pupils have been applying their budgeting skills to calculate costs, compare options and work out profit and loss. These engaging projects have helped the children to see how mathematics can be used in everyday life and have encouraged them to think carefully about making informed financial decisions.

In Welsh, we have been preparing and recording our assessment pieces. Pupils spoke confidently about themselves, their interests and places they have visited, demonstrating their growing confidence and fluency when speaking Welsh independently.

PE lessons have focused on an exciting circuits fitness challenge. Pupils competed against their partners in a variety of activities, testing their speed, strength and endurance. We also linked our learning to numeracy by calculating scores, comparing results and tracking progress throughout the session.

In Literacy, we completed our narrative writing journey by editing, improving and publishing our final stories entitled The Last Day. Pupils demonstrated creativity and maturity as they wrote from two different perspectives, carefully considering how thoughts, feelings and events might be experienced differently by each character. We have been incredibly impressed by the quality of the final pieces.

It has been another busy and productive week in Year 6, and we are very proud of the effort, perseverance and enthusiasm shown by all members of Dosbarth Llwynog.
