Eisteddfod fun and creativity!

It has been another busy and creative week in Llwynog class! In maths, we have continued developing our understanding of finding the areas of different shapes. During our numeracy across the curriculum lesson, pupils applied their skills to solve real-life problem-solving tasks involving both area and perimeter. The children showed great mathematical thinking by explaining their reasoning and working logically through each problem.

In literacy, the class wrote creative narrative poems based on the theme of Cynefin for our school Eisteddfod competition. Pupils worked hard to use imaginative language and powerful imagery to describe places that are special and meaningful to them. As part of our other Eisteddfod activities, children carefully hand wrote a Welsh poem and created multimedia artwork inspired by the beautiful landscapes of Welsh artist Susie Grindey. The artwork produced was truly outstanding and demonstrated fantastic creativity and effort from everyone.

We have also been very busy preparing for our Eisteddfod performance and competitions, and the excitement around the classroom is growing! Da iawn to all the children for their hard work and dedication both in school and at home.

Reminders for next week:

  • Monday: School Eisteddfod – children should wear red or Wales-themed clothing.

  • Thursday: World Book Day – children can come to school dressed in comfy clothing ready to enjoy lots of reading activities.

  • Llangrannog Medical forms to Mrs Hale in the office by Thursday of next week please.

We are very proud of all the effort Llwynog class have put into their work this week. Da iawn pawb! 🦊
