New Inquiry

Dosbarth Draenog - 16.1.26

Hello everyone! Welcome to this week’s update from Dosbarth Draenog. We’ve been buzzing with excitement as we dive into our new inquiry about electric vehicles and their impact on our future. It’s a fascinating topic that not only taps into our curiosity about technology but also encourages us to think critically about sustainability and the environment. We can’t wait to explore how these vehicles could shape our world and what that means for us as future citizens!

In maths, we’ve just wrapped up our learning on perimeters. The children have done a fantastic job measuring and calculating the perimeters of various shapes, which has really helped them understand the concept in a practical way. Next week, we’ll be moving on to area, where we’ll explore how to calculate the space inside different shapes. It’s wonderful to see the children applying their mathematical skills in real-world contexts, and I’m sure they’ll enjoy the new challenges ahead!

Our Literacy journey has also reached an exciting milestone. We’ve completed our unit on writing instructions, and the children have created some brilliant guides on how to build a craft suspension bridge. It has been delightful to see their creativity shine through as they crafted clear and engaging instructions. This not only helped them develop their writing skills but also encouraged teamwork and problem-solving as they worked together to build their models.

In PE, we’ve continued to focus on our throwing and catching skills, practising them in various game scenarios. The children have shown great improvement and enthusiasm, and it’s been wonderful to see them working together, supporting each other, and having fun while developing their physical abilities. These skills are not just important for sports but also for building teamwork and cooperation among classmates.

As we move forward, I encourage you to ask your children about what they’re learning. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and I’m sure they’ll love sharing their insights with you. Thank you for your continued support in helping our class thrive. Let’s keep up the great work, Dosbarth Draenog!
