What a wonderful and busy week it has been in Year 3! As we approach the end of the school year, we are so proud of all the hard work, enthusiasm, and joy your children have shown. This week in particular has been filled with excitement, creativity, and learning – a perfect way to round off our summer term together.
The biggest highlight of our week has to be our fantastic performance of The Wizard of Oz. The children have been practising tirelessly over the past few weeks and all that hard work truly paid off. From bold acting to beautiful singing, they lit up the stage with confidence and teamwork.
We were blown away by how well the children remembered their lines, supported one another, and brought the story to life with such enthusiasm. It was lovely to see them shine in front of an audience, and many of them said it was one of their favourite memories from Year 3. A huge thank you to all of you who helped with costumes, props, or came to support us during the show – it meant a great deal to the children.
We have also been learning all about bees and their importance to our environment. The children were fascinated to discover how bees pollinate flowers and help produce much of the food we eat. We explored the parts of a flower, watched short documentaries, and even created our own fact posters about bees.
We also had some great discussions about how we can help protect bees, including planting wildflowers, avoiding pesticides, and building bee hotels. The children showed real curiosity and empathy during this topic and asked thoughtful questions throughout.
