Growing Minds and Solving Mysteries

What a fantastic and busy week it’s been here at school!

In our art lessons, we’ve been inspired by nature and sustainability. The children have created stunning allotment-themed artwork, using a mix of textures and colours to bring gardens to life on paper. The creativity and detail in their work really stood out – we’re so proud of their efforts!

Meanwhile, in English, persuasive writing was the focus. The class crafted compelling paragraphs all about the benefits of buying food locally. They explored how supporting local farmers not only helps the environment but also strengthens our community. The arguments were powerful, passionate, and well-reasoned – great job, everyone!

We also delved deeper into the idea of food miles, learning how far our food travels to get to our plates and why that matters. This tied in perfectly with our writing and art, making for a wonderfully cross-curricular experience.

But perhaps the most exciting event of the week came in maths... we became detectives! There was a mysterious crime on Sports Day – someone had stolen the football goals! Using our data-handling, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills, we cracked clues and calculated carefully to uncover the culprit. The maths investigation was a hit, and we’re happy to report that the case is now closed!

Have a fantastic weekend! See you Monday!
