Break the Rules Day!
🌟 Year 3 Weekly Newsletter 🌟
Final Week Before Half Term – What a Week!
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a wonderfully busy week we've had in Year 3! As we wrap up this half-term, we wanted to share some of the exciting things we've been learning and celebrating.
📏 Maths Fun – Area and Perimeter
This week, we’ve been budding mathematicians, diving into the world of area and perimeter. The children enjoyed measuring classroom objects and drawing their own shapes to calculate their sizes. We’ve seen some great teamwork and problem-solving!
🌱 Science – Soil Investigations
In Science, we got our hands dirty (quite literally!) exploring different types of soil. We conducted experiments to observe how soil behaves when mixed with water, and discovered what makes healthy soil for growing plants. A huge well done to all our little scientists!
🎨 Creative Corner – Allotment Artwork
Linking to our outdoor learning and garden area, we’ve created some beautiful artwork inspired by allotments. The children used a variety of materials and techniques to bring their garden scenes to life – the results are colourful, creative and very impressive!
🐝 World Bee Day
We also took time this week to celebrate World Bee Day! We learned all about the importance of bees in our ecosystem, and how we can help protect them.
🎉 Break the Rules Day!
What a fun-filled day we had for Break the Rules Day! The children came in wearing their own clothes, showed off some crazy hairstyles, odd socks, and even brought their favourite toys in from home. The biggest excitement of all? Mr Griffiths and Mr Howles getting gunged! It was a brilliant way to end the half-term with lots of laughter and smiles.
👋 Goodbye and Good Luck, Miss Traylen
This week, we also said a heartfelt goodbye to Miss Traylen, who has finished her placement with us. We will miss her kind nature and all the support she’s given the class. We know she’ll be an amazing teacher, and we wish her all the best in her next placement and future career!
🌼 Wishing You a Fantastic Half Term!
Thank you for all your support this half-term. We hope you enjoy a restful and sunny break. Please remember that school resumes on Tuesday 3rd June – and we’re kicking things off with our exciting Cluster Olympics day! Children will need to come in ready for some sporty fun – details to follow.
Stay safe and have a brilliant half-term!
