Amazing Allotments and Fantastic Fruit!

🌟 Year 3 Weekly Blog πŸŒŸ

What a busy and productive week we’ve had in Year 3!

First of all, a huge well done to all the children for their hard work and focus during our assessments this week. They showed great determination and resilience, and we’re very proud of them!

We’ve also begun rehearsals for our Summer Play, and there’s already lots of excitement in the air. Lines are being learned and songs are being sung – we can’t wait to share more details with you soon.

In Maths, we’ve been exploring different units of measurement and learning how to measure perimeter. The children have enjoyed using rulers and metre sticks to measure around different shapes and real-life objects.

In English, we completed our Hot Task by writing an instructional leaflet on how to grow tomatoes. The children applied everything they’ve learned about instruction writing – including using time connectives, imperative verbs, and clear steps.

To link with our learning about growing and gardening, we created still life drawings of fruit and vegetables in Art. The children looked closely at shape, colour, and texture to create some brilliant observational sketches.

Thank you for your continued support – have a lovely weekend!
