Welcome back Year 3!

🌼 Dosbarth Draenog  – Welcome back! ðŸŒ¼
We hope you all had a restful and enjoyable Easter break. It’s been a very busy and exciting start to the term in Year 3!

We kicked off the week with a very special visit from Steel, one of the new Gladiators! He spoke to us about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and having a strong, positive mindset. The children were inspired by his energy and words of encouragement, and we had some great discussions about how we can stay active and look after both our bodies and our minds.

In maths, we’ve continued to explore money, focusing on using a budget and calculating change. The children enjoyed working through real-life scenarios and developing their problem-solving skills. They’ve shown great teamwork and resilience while managing their 'shopping lists' within budget!

In literacy, we’ve been busy re-drafting our encyclopaedia entries, improving our language choices and layout. We’ve also launched into our new writing journey: Instructional Texts! From how to plant seeds to how to catch a dragon (you never know!), we’ll be exploring all the features of clear, helpful instructions.

To launch our brand-new inquiry—"How do allotments help people and communities?"—we visited Forage Farm. This hands-on experience gave us the chance to see farming in action, meet some animals, and learn about growing food sustainably. It was a fantastic day out, full of questions, muddy hands and feet, and big smiles!

Our new inquiry will take us on a journey through gardening, community, and healthy living. We’ll be learning about where our food comes from, the benefits of growing it ourselves, and how this connects to looking after the planet.

Thank you as always for your continued support—we’re excited for what the rest of the term has in store!
