Why is it not hot?

Dosbarth Draenog - 5.6.26
We have had an incredibly busy and productive week in Dosbarth Draenog. The classroom has been buzzing with creativity, deep thinking, and lots of reflection as we head into the final stretch of the school year.
Here is a look at what our wonderful class has achieved this week:
Weather in a Box: Our Extreme Art Models
We kicked off the week by turning ordinary shoeboxes into spectacular 3D art models of extreme weather systems! The children used a mix of textures, paints, and recycled materials to bring wild weather to life.
-
What we created: We saw everything from swirling cotton-wool tornadoes and glittering lightning storms to dramatic volcanic eruptions and snowy blizzards.
Literacy Assessment: Weather Experts
Following our art projects, the children put their knowledge into words by completing an extreme weather-themed literacy assessment. They were tasked with using descriptive vocabulary, accurate punctuation, and structured paragraphs to explain or report on these powerful natural events. Everyone tried their absolute best and showed great focus.
Looking Back: Year-in-Review Reflections
As we approach the end of the academic year, we took some quiet time this week to look back at where we started. The children went through their older work and wrote thoughtful reflections on their personal progress.
"It was incredibly moving to hear the children notice how much their handwriting has improved, how much faster they can solve maths problems, and how much their confidence has grown since September.
Shout-out to everyone who brought in shoeboxes and materials to make our art project such a huge success!
