Time for a well earned break!

Dosbarth Draenog - 12.2.26

What a fantastic way to end the half-term! Dosbarth Draenog has been working incredibly hard this week, mixing high-energy sports with some very deep thinking in Literacy.

🏃‍♂️ PE: Dodgeball & Skills We wrapped up our "Throwing and Catching" topic with a bang! The class applied all the skills they’ve practised over the last few weeks in a final, high-energy game of Dodgeball. It was great to see everyone’s accuracy and teamwork improve.

  • Looking ahead: Get your rackets ready—after half-term, we will be moving on to Tennis!

🌍 Literacy: The Great Debate We have launched into a brand new topic centred around debate and persuasive arguments. Our big question is: Are electric cars the answer to the climate change crisis? To build our arguments, we have been researching prominent climate activists, focusing on Greta Thunberg and Vanessa Nakate. The children are already forming some strong opinions and learning how to back them up with facts.

➗ Maths: Mastering Division In Maths, we have been busy exploring different methods of division.

While we tried a few techniques, the class's firm favourite was the partitioning method. It has really helped us break down larger numbers to make them easier to manage.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Eisteddfod Preparations Finally, we have started getting creative for our upcoming school Eisteddfod! We have begun drafting our narrative poems for the competition. We can't wait to share the finished results with you after the break.

Have a wonderful half-term, everyone!
