Last week of the term
What an exciting week it has been in Year 2 and 3! The children have been full of enthusiasm as they look forward to their class trip to the Roman Legion Museum in Newport this Friday. To get ready for the visit, the children used a question matrix to create thoughtful questions about Roman life — we can’t wait to see what answers we discover on the trip!
In Literacy, the children have been planning their own interviews with a Celt, thinking carefully about the kinds of questions they would ask and how the Celt might respond. It’s been wonderful to see their curiosity and imagination shine through.
In Welsh, the children have been learning to write about the weather, and have used ICT to record voice notes to go alongside their work. It’s fantastic to hear their confidence growing as they practise their spoken Welsh!
In Maths, we’ve begun tackling column subtraction when crossing 10 — a tricky concept, but the children have shown brilliant resilience and a positive attitude. With practice and perseverance, we know they’ll master it soon.
After such a busy and hardworking term, we are all looking forward to a well-deserved break next week. Da iawn pawb – well done, everyone, for your effort, enthusiasm, and teamwork. Enjoy your break and come back ready for another exciting term of learning!
