Phew! What a busy but enjoyable first week back. It has been great to see everyone and have a chat about all everyone has been up to in the holidays. The children have been great at settling back in, and we are all beginning to learn the new routines of the class. This week we have been busy discussing expectations of our behaviour, and how we treat one another. We have also been using the 'Rights of the child' to create our class charter. Each child came home with a reading book today and the children have been asked to bring them to school every day.

Next week, we will be beginning our mini-topic about how Llangan village has changed over time. This will have a humanities focus, so we will be looking at maps and timelines and what can change in a village. We will also be aiming to create some artwork. We will also use our IT skills in order to carry out research. In Maths, we will be revising and extending our knowledge of place value, using numbers up to 4 digits. We will also begin our writing journey, focusing on letter writing.
