What an exciting week of learning we have had! We have been immersed in the wonderful world of Roald Dahl, with a particular focus on the much-loved story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring stories, characters and ideas while developing their skills across lots of different areas of learning.

We have had lots of fun bringing Roald Dahl's wonderful stories to life! The children used their creativity and imagination to create their own characters or scenes from a Roald Dahl book. They thought carefully about the characters, settings and events they wanted to represent and enjoyed sharing their ideas with others.

We also became actors and used role play to act out our favourite parts from a Roald Dahl book. The children enjoyed taking on different characters, using expressive voices and actions, and working together to recreate memorable moments from the stories.

We have also continued our work on writing letters about ourselves. The children have been thinking carefully about the information they would like to share, developing their sentences and working hard to make their writing interesting and personal.

There has been lots of fantastic mathematical thinking this week! Some of us have been learning how to use column addition, carefully lining up our numbers and working through calculations step by step. We have been practising our skills and building confidence when solving addition problems.

Our construction area has been full of exciting ideas inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We have used our imagination to design, build and create our own chocolate factory-inspired structures and models.

The children have been developing their problem-solving, planning, teamwork and fine motor skills as they worked together to turn their ideas into reality. It has been wonderful to see their creativity and enthusiasm!

It has been fantastic to see the children becoming so enthusiastic about their learning. From stepping into the magical world of Roald Dahl to developing our mathematical skills, writing letters and creating imaginative models, we have been learning, creating, communicating and having lots of fun along the way!
