Creativity, collaboration and confidence

What a fantastic and busy week we have had in Year 2/3!

Our Year 3 children have been working incredibly hard rehearsing for our upcoming summer production of High School Musical. They have been practising their songs, acting and dances with great enthusiasm, and we can't wait to share with you next week.

This week, we also enjoyed two wonderful afternoons creating our 'Rainforest in a Shoebox' projects. The children worked collaboratively, using a range of creative and natural materials to design their own miniature rainforests. We were so impressed with their teamwork, imagination and creativity. Every shoebox is unique, and the finished creations look absolutely fantastic!

In Maths, we have been revising our column addition and subtraction skills. The children have been working hard to apply the methods accurately and confidently when solving a range of calculations and reasoning problems.

During our Literacy lessons, we have been learning about autobiographies. We explored the key features that make an autobiography, before planning and beginning to write our own. It has been wonderful to see the children reflecting on their own lives and experiences while developing their writing skills.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our fantastic Jump Out Afternoon on Monday. The children were so proud to showcase their beautiful artwork and persuasive posters, and they loved sharing their learning with their families. We really appreciate your continued support.

On Thursday morning, the children took part in a busy and exciting Transition Morning, where they spent time getting to know their new teacher and classroom for September. It was a lovely opportunity to begin building confidence and excitement for the new school year.

Finally, a reminder that our High School Musical summer performance will take place on Thursday 9th July at 2:00pm and 5:00pm. We are looking forward to welcoming you and can't wait for the children to perform after all of their hard work and dedication.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to another exciting week of learning!
