Creativity and Sport
This week has been a very busy and exciting one for our Year 2 and 3 class!
At the start of the week, our Year 3 children attended the Cluster Olympics at Bont Faen. The children took part in a variety of activities, including running, dancing, javelin throwing and many more. It was a fantastic experience for children from across the cluster to come together and enjoy the day. Staff were extremely proud of how well-behaved the children were and commented on what a pleasure they were to have throughout the event.
Back in school, the children have been completing a number of literacy and maths assessments this week and have worked incredibly hard. Alongside this, we have enjoyed some valuable expressive arts time, giving the children an opportunity to relax, be creative and showcase their artistic skills.
The children have been creating beautiful rainforest collages using old magazines and recycled materials. They explored a wide range of colours, textures and patterns to carefully select pieces that represented different parts of the rainforest, such as leafy canopies, colourful flowers and exotic animals. The children practised their cutting and arranging skills, thinking carefully about layering and composition to make their artwork stand out. We were particularly impressed with the way the children experimented with different shades of green and bright tropical colours to create depth and detail within their collages. The classroom has been full of creativity, teamwork and discussion about rainforest habitats, and the finished pieces look fantastic!
A quick reminder that Sports Day will take place next Thursday. If you are unsure of your child’s house colour, please feel free to get in touch.
