A Fantastic First Week Back!

We have had a brilliant first week back and it has been full of exciting learning across our classroom!

In Maths, we have started our new topic all about time. We have been revising our understanding of days, weeks and months, and making sure we feel confident with the basics. We are now beginning to take the next step in our learning by focusing on reading an analogue clock and practising counting in sets of 5 minutes. Everyone has shown great effort so far and it has been fantastic to see growing confidence.

On Tuesday, we were very lucky to have a special ICT and music session with Dan and Phil. Dan and Phil worked with us to show how we can use technology to create our own music. We used Garage Band to explore sounds, beats and composition. We have some real budding music producers in our class – great job everyone! We are very excited that they will be back next week to help us develop our skills even further.

As part of our Wellbeing Week, we have been thinking carefully about what makes us feel happy. We have talked about the things we enjoy doing and how these can help us feel calm, positive and ready to learn. We have also been discussing independence and what it means to do things for ourselves. We talked about not always taking the easy option and building confidence by trying things on our own first.

We have also been learning about safe and unsafe situations. We discussed what we could do if we ever felt unsure, how we can help each other, and who the trusted adults are that we can turn to for help. These are really important conversations that help us stay safe and support one another.

Overall, it has been a wonderful start to the term. We are very proud of how everyone has settled back into learning, and we are already looking forward to our exciting Jump In Day on Monday!
