A busy week
We have had a busy and exciting week full of learning across all areas of the curriculum!
In maths, we have been exploring how to find half of a shape and halve numbers. Together, we created success criteria to help us know when we had halved correctly. We also used our place value knowledge to support us when halving numbers, showing great mathematical thinking and teamwork.
In literacy, we have been writing and sorting facts and opinions. This has been an important step on our writing journey, helping us understand the difference between fact and fiction and supporting us to become more confident writers.
Our topic work has taken us into outer space! 🚀 We have been learning about space exploration and the many different ways space can be explored. We discovered exciting information about rockets, space buggies, and rovers, and enjoyed sharing our ideas and questions about space.
To celebrate St Dwynwen’s Day, we created beautiful Welsh love spoons for a class display. We researched the meanings behind traditional symbols and carefully chose designs to create a love spoon for someone special to us. The finished spoons look fantastic and show how much thought and creativity went into our work.
🔭 What’s Coming Up Next Week 🔭
Next week, we will be:
- Planning and writing non-chronological reports in literacy
- Continuing our work on fractions in maths, building on our understanding of halves
- Learning about the astronauts who have travelled into space as part of our inquiry work
We are looking forward to another exciting week of learning! 🌍✨
