🦋 Pili Pala Class Blog – A Busy and Brilliant Week!
What a wonderful week we’ve had in Pili Pala! The children have been busy exploring, creating, thinking and sharing their ideas across lots of exciting areas of learning.
🌑 Shadow Puppet Magic
We have loved making our own shadow puppets! The children designed and created their own characters, then tested how shadows change when you move them closer to or further away from the light. There was lots of experimenting, teamwork and storytelling as they brought their puppets to life behind the screen.
🔢 Maths – Doubling Fun
In maths, we have been learning all about doubling. The children used practical resources such as cubes, counters and toys to help them see what happens when we double a number. They enjoyed finding doubles in different ways and explaining how they knew their answers were correct.
✏️ Literacy – Writing Instructions
In literacy, we have finished writing our final set of instructions. The children worked hard to include clear steps, bossy verbs and helpful details so that someone else could follow their instructions. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as writers and how proud they were to share their work.
💛 Health and Well-Being – Understanding Our Feelings
This week we have also been thinking about emotions and when we might feel different feelings, such as happy, sad, worried or excited. The children talked about their own experiences and learned that all feelings are okay and that it is important to talk to someone if we need help.
🐹 Special Visitors – Ninja and Pickle
We were very excited to have a visit from Ninja and Pickle, our school guinea pigs! The children learned how to look after them gently and responsibly, and loved watching them explore their environment. It was a lovely opportunity to talk about caring for living things and being kind.
We are so proud of all the learning the children have been doing — thank you for all your support at home. We can’t wait to see what next week brings! 🌟
