Then and Now, Autumn Adventures and Exciting Things Ahead!

What a busy and exciting week we have had in Dosbarth Gwenynen!

We have continued our enquiry into “Then and Now”, exploring how things have changed over time. This week, we turned our attention to news and communication and how people share news with others around the world. We discovered different ways of communicating in the past and present, including telegrams, radio broadcasts and emails. The children enjoyed discussing which method they thought was the best way to share news and explaining their choices!

Our classroom has been buzzing with activity as the children explored their cool challenges. We have been busy matching Numicon pieces to numerals, developing our number recognition and mathematical skills through hands-on learning.

We have also continued our autumn adventures!  The children enjoyed exploring our Welsh number provision, creating exciting pumpkin potions and carrying out experiments in our tough tray. Our classroom smelled absolutely gorgeous as we explored a range of autumnal spices through our activities!

During our Personal and Social lesson, we talked about the importance of covering our mouths when coughing to help prevent the spread of germs and keep ourselves and others healthy. In PE, we had lots of fun using our bodies to move like toys, exploring different movements and ways to travel.

 Looking Ahead to Next Week!

There is lots to look forward to next week in school!

Tuesday – Pumpkin Carving
We are very grateful to our PTA for providing pumpkins for the children in nursery to enjoy carving. We can't wait to see their creativity come to life!

 Wednesday – Creative Day
We will be taking part in an exciting Zambian dance session, giving the children an opportunity to experience a different style of dance, music and movement.

 Thursday – Halloween Disco
Get ready for some spooky fun at the Halloween disco after school!

 Book Fair – All Week!
The book fair will be available after school throughout next week. Families are very welcome to pop in and have a browse from 3.30pm. It's a lovely opportunity to discover some new books and encourage a love of reading at home.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We are looking forward to another fun-filled week of learning, creativity and autumn adventures with our little bees!
