We have had a busy and exciting time in Dosbarth Gwenynen!

Our maths focus has been on measuring. Inside the classroom, the children explored measuring using cubes and other non-standard units. They enjoyed comparing lengths and sizes using hands-on resources. Outside, we continued our measuring through play, using natural objects and exploring different ways to measure in our outdoor environment.

We are very excited to be welcoming our new nursery friends who will be joining us after Easter. The children have been talking about how we can help them feel happy and settled.

In our creative activities, we made seed packets and carefully counted the seeds to put inside. This was a great way to practise our counting skills. We also spent lots of time outdoors enjoying the sunshine—riding bikes and trikes, developing our coordination and having lots of fun!

The children loved making potions in the mud kitchen and were very excited to discover minibeasts in our outdoor classroom. We also painted stones and created our own bubble wands, which were a big hit!

During PE sessions, we have been practising animal movements as part of our warm- ups, followed by circle games and mindfulness activities to help us relax and focus.

It has been wonderful to see the children so engaged, curious, and happy in their learning!
