Phrase of the week

Dosbarth Mochyn Ddaer - 8.5.25

As the term moves forward, our pupils have been deeply engaged in a range of exciting learning experiences across subjects. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to this week:

Maths – Exploring Area and Perimeter This week, the children have been developing their understanding of area and perimeter. They have been calculating the space inside shapes and the lengths around them, applying these skills through practical activities and problem-solving challenges. You might like to encourage them to measure objects at home or even plan a small garden design to put their skills to use!

Literacy – Diaries and Personal Narratives In Literacy, we have delved into the art of diary writing. Pupils have been learning how to capture their thoughts and experiences in a reflective and personal tone, exploring the power of writing as a means of self-expression. We’ve been inspired by some classic diary entries and creative prompts to spark their imagination.

Inquiry – All About Bees Our new inquiry topic is buzzing with excitement – it’s all about bees! The children have started researching these fascinating creatures, learning about their habitats, roles in ecosystems, and the critical part they play in pollination. We’re looking forward to some hands-on learning and maybe even a visit from a local beekeeper later in the term.

Forest School – Wood Cookies and Honeycomb Art Out in Forest School, pupils have been crafting beautiful wood cookies, learning about tree growth and natural patterns. They have also been exploring the geometric beauty of honeycomb structures, connecting our inquiry theme with creative outdoor learning.

Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement at home.
