Outdoor Learning and Forest School - 18.9.25
Forest School - This week in Forest School, our Year 4 and 5 pupils were introduced to the concept of dynamic risk assessment—thinking on their feet and working with partners to stay safe while using tools. Pupils learned how to use a knife and hacksaw responsibly, discussing risks and solutions together.
In Year 4, pupils used willow to create their very own magic wands, combining creativity with careful tool use. They were proud of their designs and showed great focus and care.
Year 5 pupils began crafting wind chimes, using their knowledge of different types of knots to secure materials. Their teamwork and problem-solving were outstanding, and the chimes are already beginning to take shape beautifully.
Outdoor Learning - Year 3 collected autumn windfall apples, popped in a few more bedding plants and looked at and tasted garden produce. Year 6 designed and created a wheelbarrow planter. They attached pots to a wheelbarrow body taking into account weight and balance. Then planted it all up. Fantastic skills and teamwork.
