Half-Term Science Challenge – How Do Things Change?

This term, we would like you to become little scientists and investigate how everyday materials change! Your challenge is to choose something that changes and carry out your own science investigation! Here are some ideas:

· Melting Ice – Where does ice melt the fastest?

· Melting Chocolate – What happens when chocolate gets warm and then cools down?

· Making Toast – How does bread change when it is toasted?

· Freezing Water – What happens when water is put in the freezer? Your Science Investigation We would like you to: Predict – What do you think will happen? Investigate – Carry out your experiment with an adult. Observe – What changes do you notice? Record – Take photographs, draw pictures or write about your findings. Explain – What did you discover? Was your prediction correct? Dring Yn Uwch – Extra Challenge Can you explain why the change happened? What else could you investigate? Sharing Your Learning You can present your findings through photographs, drawings, a poster, writing or a short video. Please upload your work to Seesaw so we can share our scientific discoveries when we return to school.
