Jump In Day – A Flying Start to Our New Inquiries!

On Monday, the children leapt into their new topics with an exciting immersion day.

  • Year 6 – WW2 & Evacuees
Blwyddyn 6 started by role-playing the Billeting Hall, unpacking their evacuee bags, and learning about Operation Pied Piper in 1939. They even received letters from their parents and explored rationing. Watch this space – more to come!

  • Year 4/5 – Medieval Times
Dressed in medieval clothes, our pupils transformed their classroom into a castle and enjoyed a medieval feast to launch their new inquiry.

  • Year 2/3 – Celts & Romans
Pupils stepped back in time as Celts and Romans, designing striking Celtic shield patterns and even building wattle and daub walls.

  • Nursery, Reception & Year 1 – Pirates!
Ahoy there! Our youngest learners set sail on a Pirate Jump In Day, making pirate hats, hunting for treasure, and embarking on adventures across the seven seas.

✨ It was a day full of fun, imagination, and discovery – the perfect way to begin a term of exciting learning. Thank you, parents, for helping us make the day so magical!

🍎 Happy Apple Pressing Day! 🍏

Year 6 enjoyed a hands-on experience harvesting our school apples and turning them into delicious juice. After washing the fruit, pupils used a traditional scratter to crush the apples into pomace before pressing them to release the juice.

A special thank you to the St Hilary volunteers who brought their village apple press and shared their expertise – the children loved learning about this traditional process! 🌳🥤
