Mr Griffiths’ Weekly Blog – 14th June 2025

Dear Families,

Well, the summer term is always full of excitement, and this week has been no exception — despite the unpredictable Welsh weather trying its best to cause a bit of chaos! Here are some important updates and a few lovely highlights from life at Llangan.

Sports Day Rearrangements – Thank You!
First of all, a huge thank you to everyone for your understanding and patience around the Sports Day changes. We never want to rearrange events last-minute, but with the forecast as unsettled as it was, we had to make the call to ensure the children could enjoy the day safely. We’re so grateful for the flexibility shown by parents, carers and staff. Fingers crossed for fair weather on the new date!

New date: Thursday 19th June
Start time: 12:30pm (adjusted to allow for the Year 6 transition meeting)
Thank you for your understanding — fingers crossed for sunshine next week!

Class Photos – Wednesday 19th June
Our class photos will be taken this coming Wednesday, so please ensure children are in full school uniform (including school jumpers or cardigans, even if the weather is warm). These photos are always a lovely keepsake and an important part of capturing memories at Llangan.

The Eras Tour Comes to Llangan!
Our very own Taylor Swift Night is fast approaching, and we can’t wait to see you all there! Tickets are just £10 per child, and the event takes place on Thursday 3rd July at 5:30pm. There’ll be face glitter, Swiftie bracelets, sweet treats and a photo opportunity at the end — it’s set to be a brilliant evening. A reminder that Nursery and Reception pupils must be accompanied by an adult.

The PTA Father’s Day Stall took place today — and what a success it was! We are so lucky to have such a dedicated PTA who gave up their time to source brilliant gifts for the dads, grandads and special grown-ups in our community. They spent yesterday evening setting up a fabulous stall so the children could enjoy choosing something meaningful. After all their hard work preparing for the (sadly cancelled) Family Fun Day, they really are Llangan legends

Dosbarth Mochyn Daear had a truly fantastic time visiting @sirhowyvalleyhoneybee earlier this week! The children loved seeing the bees hard at work up close and were full of brilliant questions — it was clear their knowledge of beekeeping and pollination is really growing. Back at school, they also helped Mrs Stevens and Jonathan check on our own hives — diolch both!

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. It really does make a difference, especially at this busy point in the term. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to get in touch — we’re here to help. Wishing you a relaxing weekend.
