Puppets, Pigs, and Play

We have had a very busy and exciting week in Dosbarth Gwenynen as we began exploring our new topic Puppets.

The children have been thrilled to play with our new finger puppets, which were very kindly gifted to the class. These have inspired lots of imaginative play, storytelling, and role-play with friends.

We have been enjoying the traditional tale of The Three Little Pigs. The children have loved retelling the story using puppets and acting out different parts of the tale in our Theatre Role Play Area.

In the maths area, the children have been using real money to buy new homes for the three little pigs. This has helped them practise recognising coins and counting.

In literacy, we became detectives! The children created “Wanted” posters to help find the Big Bad Wolf. They practised mark-making, drawing, and talking about the characters in the story.

During our outdoor learning session, we painted pig pictures using mud. We also explored why the pigs became muddy in the tough spot and investigated how we could help to clean them, developing our curiosity and problem-solving skills.

Finally, Thank You!

Thank you so much for the items kindly purchased from our Amazon wish list. We have absolutely loved using them in our learning areas, and the children have been so excited to explore and learn with them. Please keep an eye on the wish list as it is updated regularly. There is absolutely no obligation, but anything we receive is truly appreciated and makes a real difference to our learning experiences.
