Criw Cymraeg – Working Towards Gold đ
The Criw Cymraeg at Llangan have been working extremely hard towards achieving the Cymraeg Campus Gold Award for the Welsh Language Charter / Siarter Iaith, and we are proud to share that we have already achieved 6 out of the 10 targets. This means we are making excellent progress on our journey – da iawn pawb!
The Criw Cymraeg have been busy planning a range of exciting projects and events to enrich the Welsh language experience for all of our Llangan pupils. Their work supports our whole-school commitment to using Welsh confidently and naturally throughout the day – Cymraeg bob dydd!
This half term, the Criw have chosen three specific targets to focus on:
-
To consistently share the weekly Welsh phrase in assembly and to award house points and special recognition to pupils who use Welsh around the school.
-
To encourage pupils and staff to use Welsh consistently in lessons, around the school and during daily routines.
-
To use Welsh in ICT, including accessing Welsh-language apps and digital tools during lessons.
We also have lots of exciting Welsh events planned for the year ahead. This month, we will be holding a whole-school celebration for St Dwynwen’s Day, where we are delighted to welcome back Tudur Phillips to Llangan for another energetic twmpath. Pupils will also be taking part in Clocs Ffit! – a fun and active way to enjoy Welsh music and movement.
Looking ahead, we will soon begin planning our much-anticipated whole-school Eisteddfod, where we celebrate the talents of our wonderful pupils through the medium of Welsh, creativity and performance – cyfle i ddisgleirio!
If you have any questions about Criw Cymraeg or the work being done to achieve Gold status, please speak to a member of the Criw or Mrs Antoniou.
Diolch yn fawr am eich cefnogaeth – together we are building a confident, bilingual future for our learners. Rydym yn falch iawn! đđ´ó §ó ˘ó ˇó Źó łó ż
