We have had a busy and exciting week of learning in Year 6!

In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of scale drawings, carefully interpreting and creating them using given ratios. Alongside this, we tackled a range of multi-step reasoning and problem-solving tasks, where pupils had to decide on the most efficient strategies and clearly explain their thinking. It has been great to see children growing in confidence when justifying their answers.

On Tuesday, we enjoyed an amazing school trip to the South Wales Aviation Museum. The children were fantastic ambassadors for our school and showed great curiosity as they explored real aircraft and learned about the history of aviation. When we returned to school, we wrote detailed recounts of our visit, focusing on chronological order and descriptive detail. In our Inquiry lessons, we also used our numeracy skills to reason about the forces of flight, linking our learning across subjects.

In Literacy, we explored the key features of encyclopaedia entries. The children worked hard to include technical vocabulary and used conjunctive adverbs to link ideas and present information clearly and formally.

In French, we practised talking about ourselves and used ICT skills to create an engaging “About Me” document, combining language learning with digital creativity.

📌 Important reminder:
PE has now changed to a Tuesday. Please ensure children come to school wearing their PE kits on Tuesdays.

Well done, Year 6, for another fantastic week of learning! 👏
