Llwynog Blog 12.12.25

What a busy, festive and creative week it has been in Year 6! With Christmas just around the corner, Dosbarth Llwynog have thrown themselves into rehearsals, learning, and plenty of imaginative work.
We have been practising our Christmas songs and reciting poetry in preparation for our upcoming carol concert. The class have shown wonderful confidence and enthusiasm during rehearsals, and we have really enjoyed getting creative by designing and making our own props to bring our performance to life.
In maths, we continued our learning journey through fractions by exploring how to divide fractions by integers. Pupils have worked hard to apply their strategies and deepen their understanding through problem-solving and reasoning tasks.
In literacy, we proudly completed our final adventure stories, showcasing all the narrative skills we have developed this term. We then moved on to our new writing journey: persuasive writing. We analysed a range of persuasive texts, identified persuasive devices and techniques, and began planning our own persuasive pieces. The ideas shared so far have been fantastic!
Our inquiry work took us on a trip around the globe as we researched, explored and presented how different countries celebrate Christmas. The children were fascinated by the diverse traditions and customs, and they enjoyed sharing these with the class through engaging presentations.
Next week, we are excited to get stuck into some festive Christmas crafts and, of course, to perform our carol concert for our families. We can’t wait to celebrate all of our hard work!
Well done, Dosbarth Llwynog, for another brilliant week!
We would also like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you for our gorgeous Christmas gifts. We are so touched by your generosity and thoughtfulness. Diolch yn fawr.
