Llwynog Blog 5.12.25

Science investigations, adventure stories, fractions, outdoor learning and more!
This week has been a busy and exciting one in Dosbarth Llwynog, filled with hands-on learning and fantastic creativity!
In Maths, we have been working hard on multiplying fractions by integers and by other fractions. Pupils used visual models and problem-solving activities to deepen their understanding.
In Literacy, we have been preparing to write our own adventure stories. We explored how to plan effectively, created extended sentences using a range of subordinate conjunctions, and sequenced a model text to understand how a strong adventure story is structured. The class is now full of excellent ideas for characters, settings and exciting twists!
One of our highlights this week was our practical science investigation. We explored density and viscosity by comparing how different liquids behave. Pupils made predictions, observed carefully and discussed why some liquids flow quickly while others move much more slowly. We used ICT to capture our results and write our own conclusions. Scientific thinking at its best!
During Outdoor Learning, we embraced the season by creating beautiful wreaths using natural foliage from our school garden. The children showed wonderful teamwork and creativity, and the final wreaths looked fantastic.
Well done, Llwynog! Another brilliant week of learning, exploring and creating together.
