What a wonderfully busy week we’ve had in Year 2 and 3!

In Maths, we have been continuing our work on multiplication through word problems and discovering how it links to division. The children have been practising using arrays, groups and sharing to show their thinking, and they are doing brilliantly at explaining how the two operations connect.

In Literacy, we have been getting creative with word shape poems on a Christmas theme. The children have been experimenting with adjectives and similes to make their poems as effective and festive as possible. We’ve seen bauble-shaped poems, snowflakes filled with snowy words, and even a few dancing Christmas trees!

In Inquiry, we have been exploring Christmas traditions from around the world. The children loved discovering how different countries celebrate—there were lots of surprised faces and great discussions.

In Science, we have been learning the scientific names for the different parts of a flower and understanding each part’s purpose. The children showed fantastic teamwork as they created beautifully labelled flowers together. Their accuracy and effort were wonderful to see.

And of course, all of this has been happening alongside our Christmas concert practice—phew! No wonder it feels like the days have flown by.

Well done to all our hardworking learners for an amazing week!
