Snowflakes, Sweet Houses & Singing!

This week in Dosbarth Gwenynen, we have kicked off our Winter Around the World mini inquiry by travelling to Germany. The children have had a wonderful time exploring traditions and activities linked to this wintry country.

In the playdough area, we enjoyed making our very own playdough gingerbread men, inspired by traditional German baking. We also investigated how snowflakes are formed, looking closely at their shapes and talking about how each one is unique.

A particular highlight was making delicious German houses to eat. Full of creativity and festive fun! The children also became problem-solvers as they rescued animals frozen in ice, discovering how warmth, salt and melting work in a hands-on, playful way.

We have also been busy practising our songs for the Christmas concert next week, and the children are very excited to share their performances with you.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to another wonderful week of learning and festive cheer!
