Pirates, Poppies, and Positivity

This week in Dosbarth Gwenynen, the children have been busy exploring stories, science, and important school values!

📖 We read Pirate Pete and His Smelly Feet and had lots of fun talking about the story. The children even took part in a science enquiry about good and bad smells, discovering which scents they liked and didn’t like.

🌺 The children joined the whole school assembly to celebrate Remembrance Day and reflect on its importance. In our Welly Wednesday session, we got creative and made poppies using natural resources from our outdoor area.

🤝 We celebrated Anti-Bullying Week by discussing what makes a good friend and thinking about how we can be kind and supportive to each other every day.

🔤 Our letter of the week was ‘n’. The children have been practising recognising, saying, and writing this letter.

🔢 In maths, we worked on numbers 1–10, practising counting, recognising, and ordering them through fun activities and games.

The children have had a wonderful week full of learning, creativity, and friendship. Thank you also for supporting their learning at home!
