Final week before half-term

Dosbarth Draenog - 23.10.25
What a busy and brilliant final week it’s been in Dosbarth Draenog! Our pupils have truly impressed us with their enthusiasm, creativity, and hard work across a range of subjects.
In Humanities, the children conducted their own research into a Welsh castle of their choice. Using books, websites, and classroom resources, they explored the history, architecture, and significance of these castles, building on our topic: Why were castles important and how did they shape Wales?
We also celebrated the completion of our non-chronological reports on Cardiff Castle. Pupils used their research and writing skills to produce detailed, informative texts, showcasing their understanding of structure, formal tone, and historical facts.
In PE, Dosbarth Draenog took on the challenge of designing their own invasion games. They worked in teams to create rules, objectives, and layouts, then tested and refined their games through play. It was wonderful to see collaboration, strategy, and sportsmanship in action!
In Languages, we’ve been labelling parts of the body in French. Pupils enjoyed interactive games and songs to help them learn vocabulary like la tête, les bras, and les jambes. Their confidence in using French continues to grow!
A huge well done to everyone for such a productive and exciting week. Enjoy a well-earned rest over half term!
