Friday 17th October

Coming Up at Llangan

Monday — INSET Day (School closed to pupils)

A reminder that school is closed to pupils on Monday for a cluster INSET with colleagues from Colwinston, Y Bont Faen, Llansannor and South Point. Staff will receive Digital Technology training with Mr P, a widely respected educator and trainer. Working closely as a cluster helps our small rural schools share expertise, align approaches and accelerate school improvement for all our learners. Thank you for your understanding that this INSET is not attached to a holiday.

Tuesday — PTA Pumpkin Carving Workshop

In the afternoon, pupils will work in mixed-age teams of three to carve one of 70 pumpkins kindly donated by the Penllyn Estate (Forage). The finished pumpkins will be displayed before our PTA Halloween Disco on Thursday 23 October. If you do not want your child to be involved in the pumpkin carving please let the school office know.

Wednesday — Year 6 London Trip (Imperial War Museum)

Our Year 6 pupils head to the Imperial War Museum to enrich their inquiry, Power and Conflict (WWII). This visit brings history to life with authentic artefacts, personal stories and interactive galleries—perfect for developing historical enquiry skills and empathy.

Tuesday — Parents’ Evening (Second Session)

Thank you to everyone who has booked an appointment. Parents’ Evening is a valuable opportunity to celebrate progress and agree next steps together.

Friday — Year 2/3 Trip to Caerleon

Year 2/3 will visit the National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon, to deepen their learning about Power and Conflict in Celtic/Roman Britain—including life in the barracks and the amphitheatre.

Cluster Football

We round off the half-term with a friendly cluster football match: Llangan vs Llansannor. Pob lwc, team!
