10.10.25

Another busy week!

In Maths, we’ve been exploring numbers in lots of different ways. We’ve been finding different combinations to make numbers within 20, practising our number bonds using hundreds, and using our prior knowledge to add hundreds confidently. It’s been wonderful to see everyone growing in confidence and using different strategies to solve problems.

In our Inquiry work, we’ve been travelling back in time to the days of the Celts! We have:

  • Drawn and labelled the features and materials of a Celtic Roundhouse ðŸ›–
  • Discovered the Celtic names for the different regions in Wales
  • Created categorising frames to show what the Celts had for clothing, food, housing, and jewellery
  • Designed and presented our own Celtic fact files in creative and colourful ways.

The children have shown fantastic curiosity and creativity, asking thoughtful questions and working brilliantly together. It’s been a joy to see their enthusiasm shine through in both their research and artwork.

Next week, we’ll be continuing our Celtic adventure! We’ll be:

  • Discovering what an interview is and learning about the features that make one successful
  • Researching and finding out about the famous Celtic leader Boudicca
  • Beginning to explore and research historic Celtic battles

We can’t wait to see what fascinating facts and ideas the children uncover next!

Well done, Year 2 and 3 — you are becoming true historians, mathematicians, and storytellers!
