🌿 Literacy Homework: Collect and Create!

This week your homework is all about exploring nature and using what you find to help with your writing.

Please collect some small natural items (such as conkers, acorns, sticks, leaves, or pebbles) and bring them into school. We will be using them in our classroom learning!

Activity 1 – Letter Formation with Nature

Use the items you collect to make letters. Try your name first, then other letters you know. You can take a photo or draw a picture of what you made.

Activity 2 – Writing with Nature

★ Choose one of your items.

• Say its name out loud.
• Try writing the first letter (or the whole word if you can).
• Draw a picture of it.

★★Choose 2–3 items.

• Give them names (e.g. Sammy the Stick).
• Write a simple sentence about what they do. (Sammy the Stick runs.)

★★★  Use 3–4 items as characters in a short story.

• Think: Where do they go? What happens? How does it end?
• Try to write at least 3 sentences, using joining words like and, because, then.

🌟 Dring yn Uwch (Extra Challenge)

• Add describing words (e.g. the shiny brown conker, the long wiggly stick).
• Try using punctuation: full stops, question marks, exclamation marks.
