Coins, Colours and Kindness 🌸
This week, our classroom has been full of learning and kindness! In numeracy, we began exploring money through our farm shop role play area. Here, we explored different coins, matched them to the correct amounts, created price tags for our produce, and played shopkeepers and customers by buying and selling items and paying with the right coins.
We’ve also been focusing on the theme of kindness. In our outdoor area, the children went on a 'Kindness Flower Hunt', with each 'flower' having a kind action written on it. Once we found a kindness flower, we brought it back to the group and read the kind action together. We learnt that, just like flowers need sun and water to grow, kindness helps friendships bloom and grow too! We also looked at pictures showing different ways to be kind. We discussed what was happening in each photo, who was showing kindness and how their actions help others. The children then created beautiful random acts of kindness posters to remind us that small, everyday gestures can make a big difference.
In Welsh we made the most of our outdoor area by going on a colour hunt to identify and name colours in Welsh. We also celebrated our Welsh Jamboree by creating and painting our own dragons, inspired by the Welsh national symbol.
Da iawn, Pili-Pala! Thank you for a wonderful week filled with learning, kindness and creativity.
