Friday 6th June 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope this finds you well and that you’re enjoying the sunshine after all the recent rain! It’s been another busy and exciting time here at Llangan Primary School — here’s a round-up of the latest news and a few important updates for the weeks ahead.
📧Important – Change to School Email Address
As part of a local authority-wide update, we have now moved our school email hosting to the Welsh Government’s Hwb platform.
Our new school email address is: office@llanganschool.org.uk
Please use this address for all future correspondence. The old email (llanganps@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk) will be closing soon and will no longer be monitored.
Thank you for your understanding and for updating your contact records.

🎉 This Week at Llangan
Tuesday:
Our Years 1, 2 and 3 pupils had a brilliant day at the Cluster Olympics at Y Bontfaen Primary School! They tried a range of athletic activities, built teamwork, and — most importantly — had lots of fun. A huge thank you to the team at Y Bontfaen for such a well-organised event!
Wednesday:
-
Years 3 and 4 took part in an engaging More Than Flags & Rainbows workshop, exploring diversity and inclusivity through thoughtful activities.
-
Years 5 and 6 built on their learning about family diversity, taking part in a fantastic workshop led by Ian from More Than Flags & Rainbows. The children explored how language can hurt and the importance of standing up for kindness and respect — a really valuable learning experience.
Friday:
Years 4, 5 & 6 attended the Cluster Olympics at Cardiff Met’s National Indoor Athletics Centre (NIAC). It was an amazing day filled with track and field activities, teamwork, and sportsmanship — and no competitive winning, just the joy of taking part and embracing the Olympic values of friendship, excellence, and respect.
👀 Looking Ahead to Next Week
-
Year 4 Trip – Visit to the Sihowy Valley Honey Bee Company
-
Friday 13th June – PTA Father’s Day Stall
As always, a huge thank you for your continued support — the children are thriving and it’s a joy to see them engaged in so many exciting opportunities.
Wishing you all a lovely week ahead — and fingers crossed for sunshine for Sports Day!
