Week Beginning 2nd June 2025

Symmetry, Self-Reflection & Sports Day Practise ðŸ¦‹

It was lovely to welcome everyone back after half term and hear all the adventures we have been up to!

This week in Dosbarth Pili-Pala, we began exploring the concept of symmetry in our maths sessions by looking closely at butterfly wings. The children observed how both sides looked the same, noticing the repeating patterns and colours on each wing. We also looked at our faces and bodies using a piece of string to investigate symmetry. Then we got creative and used natural materials to make our own symmetrical pictures, carefully making sure both sides matched.

This week, we also had an important SRE lesson where we watched the NSPCC's 'Pantasaurus' video and learned all about the PANTS rule. We then decorated our own pair of pants to help us remember the message and keep ourselves safe.

With only a few weeks left of term, we started reflecting on our learning journey. The children have been thinking about what they've achieved this year, what they can do now that they couldn't do before, and what they'd like to learn next. It's been wonderful to hear their thoughts and see how confidently they can talk about their progress!

On Wednesday, we got some practise in for Sports Day in our PE sessions. The children are so excited to show you their sporting skills next week!
